The “Petra” winery, as a branch of the company Tandex, is situated in the vineyards of the city of Subotica, at the very bank of Palic lake, beautiful for its natural surrounding offering perfect conditions to grow grapevine. It was named after the owner’s daughter, who, when you ask him about the name of the winery, says that it is a synonym for quality and a warning to him never to give up and tarnish his daughter’s name.

The first vineyards were planted in 2009 on 2.5 hectares, and then in 2017 another 1 hectare was planted. The varieties they grow are Pinot noir, Traminac, Pinot grigio, Merlot and Cabernet franc. The terrain is rich in clay and loam containing excellent ph factor, and quality layer of hummus. The climate is particularly suitable for growing high quality types of grapes, accompanied with a lot of sunny days and mild winds, which constantly air the vineyard, and thus prevent the development of diseases and other detrimental consequences affecting the grapevine. The differences in temperature and the micro-climate itself throughout the whole grapevine development cycle aid in proper ripening of all of the key factors to provide the grape to reach complete phenolic ripe of the berries themselves.

Realising the positive sides of our microclimate, they have gained more experience and have decided to transfer to the organic production of grape and wine. Therefore, from 2021 winery have obtained the certificate for production of organic grape and wine
