The family-run PETRA Winery is located on the shores of Lake Palić near Subotica, the northernmost city of Vojvodina, Serbia. It is located just a two-hour drive from Belgrade (190 km) and Budapest (200 km) and five hours from Vienna (400 km).

The winery was named after the owner s daughter, and that name is binding! While there are many wineries, this one has  a unique geographical  location on the shores of Lake Palić and organic approach  to wine production.

The winery produces wines that primarily emphasize the varietal characteristics of the grapes. It is  run with  knowledge, experience and heart.

The Gubičak family estate covers 10 hectares, of which 6.5 hectares are a garden, and 3.5 hectares are under vines planted in 2009.

Through soil analysis, geological sampling and careful calculations, the best vine clones suitable for this habitat were selected: Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Traminac, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

The soil is chernozem with a loess substrate and an excellent PH factor and high-quality humus that enable the proper development of the vines. Climatic conditions are very favorable for the cultivation of high-quality grape varieties, with plenty of sunny days and gentle winds that constantly air the vineyard.

This prevents  the development of diseases and other harmful effects on the vine. Temperature differences and microclimate during the entire growing season contribute to the proper ripening of all key factors, resulting in the complete phenolic ripeness of the berries themselves.

Every other trellis is grassed in order to maximally prevent and neutralize unwanted weeds and contribute to a controlled low and uniform yield of grapes.

Seeing all the positive sides of the geolocation, microclimate and acquired knowledge and experience, we resolutely went through all the steps of conversion in order to switch to organic production of grapes in our vineyard and wine in the winery.

Since 2021, the PETRA winery has been the holder of the European and Serbian certificate for the production of organic wines and grapes!
